The much anticipated final has come. The two best teams in South America will meet head-on in South America’s Copa Libertadores da America final.
As happy as I may be with Fluminense a Brazilian team being in the final, I am also overcome with heartache. Fluminense in last position in the Brazilian Championship “Campeonato Brasileiro” have made it to the final of the most prestigious club championship in South America.
The Brazil championship and Brazilian teams have been in decay as all of their best players leave to Europe by the thousands. The first division of Brazil is diluted with mediocre players.
Still this team, Fluminense, is almost being relegated to the second division of Brazil. Is the South American Clubs so bad that Brasil’s worst team makes it to the final?
In soccer we say great teams and players create their own good luck. What do we say when bad teams create their own good luck….Devine Intervention? Has the soccer Gods gone mad to let this happen?
I will not say much about LDU since I am not familiar with them and their history. However, to me this years Libertadores is a sad.
May the better of the bad teams win!
Enjoy the game!

Greetings to all soccer, football, futbol, futebol lovers around the world!
Why am I starting this Blog?
The Euro Cup has just finished with a brilliant win by Spain. Throughout the championship I had discussions and arguments with coworkers and friends about this tournament and who was the better team and who deserves to win etc. This passion has lead me to start this blog! Thus, today July 1 2008 is soccertalk's first entry! Horay!
What is the objective of this blog?
With this blog I intend to give accurate but opinionated analysis of soccer. I am a past soccer player from Brazil and USA. Circumstance and injury have left me off of the pitch; however, the philosophy stands strong.
What do I plan to get out of this blog?
I plan on releasing some of my thoughts, and hopefully feel better at the end of the day!
What can you expect to see?
I will post photos, videos of myself playing, I will write about certain teams, players and leagues from around the world. And I hope that I will get a good response from people.
Final word?
This game is part of my soul, I love this game and live this game daily. Personally I see soccer not as a game but a way of life. This is the one thing I will never be able to stop.
Lets have some fun!
