I am a Spurs supporter and have been for many years.

As many others, I have seen greatness at the Lane and have put up with mediocrity that defies belief.

We, (again) now stand at a crossroads where the road taken by THFC, will determine our position as a premier league club for the rest of my life. We have a manager who is considered by the football knowalls, as one one the best in the game. We have the basis of a squad that could take the step needed to compete at a higher level. We have a chairman, who at last, appears to be standing up for the rights of the club and will spend big on players that the manager requires.

We also have our two main targetmen about to desert ship and leave a hole in our team which will be hard to fill. Hard, but not impossible. We have sailed these stormy waters before. I remember crying my eyes out when my dad woke me early one morning as he left for work, to say that my hero had been swapped for a certain Martin Peters. I remember the feeling of hurt deep in my gut when the mighty Chiv and Gilly no longer graced the pitch. When God and Gazza departed the club for foreign shores, when our tumbling German decided twice was enough, I also wanted to sit with Mr. Sugar and throw the shirt away. My world as a Spurs fan has bottomed out on far too many occasions.

This time, it can be different. The manager, the chairman, the players are in place. We have money and will probably have much more in the next two or three weeks. I trust in the club to do the right things.

Age is a wonderful thing. I have grown as a Spurs fan to understand that the club is everything and that players are replaceable. They just play for The Club. IT will always be there for me, even if the pieces change.

So on this Monday, I look forward with an optimism that is needed being a Spurs supporter.

My eyes have seen the glory of the cups at White Hart Lane and the Spurs go marching on.
