FA Cup Pillow Talk

Apocalypse Now

'Smells like victory...'

We’ve only gone and won the FA Cup! We took to the field in our garish yellow kits this afternoon buoyed with the last gasp possibility of filling our trophy cabinet. But after 25 seconds disaster struck, Saha got on the end of a poorly cleared ball and unleashed a canon with his left.

I had anticipated a nervy start for us and a determined one for Everton. But having seen Manchester United fumble around in shock, like teenagers tangled in Marie J. Rottencrotch’s bra, after an early goal midweek, I was panicked. But we still had 89mins and 35secs to claw our way back out, and boy did we just do that. Man of the match Ashley Cole terrorised the left side with onion shaped-head Malouda as accomplice. I have slated Malouda on many occasions but I think he might have woken up under the crazed impression that he was George Best, and decided to try and play like him. Both were outstanding, and if he continues to play like that then ‘Long Live Onion Head!’ Fickle business this football, eh?

There was something very special about today, fastest goal ever in a final by Saha, 20 goals for Lampard for the fifth consecutive year, which happened to be a left footed screamer. Jim Beglin didn’t think much of it though, poor goalkeeping apparently, is it me or does he hate Chelsea? Anytime Liverpool touch the ball he almost comes in his lap, but whenever we do something fantastic it’s inevitably ‘paw defending’.

Oh, and Cashley became the first person to win it five times, and as mentioned earlier, did superbly.

    Message to Hiddink:

Thank you so much for everything! Good luck with the Russian team, but not too much luck or England will never win anything.

Aside from the early blunder Chelsea dominated much of the game and we proved ourselves worthy champions. It was amazing seeing the squad larking about with the trophy, I was surprised to see Cech not put it on instead of his scrumcap, try it out for size.

If anyone was actually at Wembley and has an anecdote or photos comment then share your experience below.
