If you don't know who Edgar Davids is, you should be poked in the eyes. If you DO know who Edgar Davids is, you'll know he is one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time.
Born on 13 March, 1973 in Paramaribo Suriname, this legendary Dutchman started out his illustrious career at Ajax Amsterdam. From then on he played for such illustrious clubs as AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Inter Milan.
Then he went to Tottenham. No words. People make mistakes.
Edgar Davids is now back at Ajax and is almost at the end of his playing days, but that won't stop me and other Ed-Heads from remembering him forever and always.
If there was one thing you would notice about Edgar Davids at first glance, it was his AWESOMELY COOL GOGGLES. Man, they were too cool for school. He didn't wear goggles just for the sake of wearing goggles though, as he suffers from glaucoma. He also had crazy dreadlocks which, when put together created the ultimate badass.
Not convinced enough? He's nicknamed "Pitbull" because of his aggressive style of play in the midfield.
Edgar Davids is my second favourite player of all time next to Luis Figo. He's my second favourite because I'm a huge Arsenal fan. And well, since he went to Spurs, things just haven't been the same between us.
Besides his bite in midfield, he had a brilliant touch and great shooting as well as passing ability. It really made him a complete midfielder. Marcelo Lippi described him as "A One Man Engine Room".
And he really was.
Many of you might have seen Davids in a few Nike ads doing really cool tricks. He's a legend, I tell you.
So here's to Edgar Davids, the Dreadlocked Deity.
What a legend, pitying the streakers.
dude that guy is screaming his ass off!!!!!
