Hi everyone hope you are well and welcome to this weeks preview of the weekends football. Looks straightforward this weekend even with a top 4 clash but as it was Europe this week I am sure we will get some strange results.
Anyway here´s my predictions for the weekend.
ASTON VILLA V BOLTON
Expect the Villains to win this one even though they aint had a win since beating Chelsea. I do think this will be tight but think Villa will nick what will be a scrappy game. Bolton have been battered by Chelsea in their last 2 games but will come out fighting today and push Villa close. I go with the home advantage here.
Villa 2-1 Bolton
BLACKBURN V PORTSMOUTH
This is a game with 2 teams who i think will stay up but will be fighting relegation for most the season. Pompey are bottom but have shown recently they are better than we all thought and are starting to pick up results. Blacburn are struggling but have played well in games they have got nothing from. I expect both teams to finish higher than they are now but as above I think the home advantage will see Rovers through here.
Blackburn 2-1 Portsmouth
MANCHESTER CITY V BURNLEY
Like everyone else I can only see one result here and it´s City to win comfortably. Burnley have suprised a few so far but, away from home they have been abysmal and could get a right spanking this afternoon.
City 4-1 Burnley
TOTTENHAM V SUNDERLAND
Terrilble result for Spurs last week and they will be looking to bounce back against Sunderland. Jones is suspended for Sunderland and as I have said before on here Sunderland are a poor team it is their strikers who are very dangerous and have got them out of jail a few times this season. Spurs to win this but why do I never feel comfortable about backing them to win. You just never know with Tottenham.
Spurs 3-1 Sunderland
WOLVES V ARSENAL
Arsenal are flying at the moment and you really do expect them to give Wolves a good going over here. They are playing great football and scoring lots of goals. Wolves on the other hand have put in some battling performances in their last 2 games. Coming back late against Villa for a draw and again at Stoke last week when 2 down came back for a point. This all depends how long Wolves can keep the gunners out but cant see anything other than an Arsenal win.
Wolves 1-3 Arsenal
HULL V STOKE
One thing I can gaurentee from this game is it wont be the greatest spectacle you will ever see. For the last time I am going for a Tigers win here (its where I grew up) even though they dont look like scoring another goal EVER! If Hull lose and Brown is not sacked I will cut my left testicle off.
Hull 1-0 Stoke
WEST HAM v EVERTON
The reult of this depends on Carlton Cole. If he plays they win if not they lose and at the time of writing this I do not know. Everton have more injury problems then the hammers of course but this all comes down to the Cole factor for me.
West Ham 1-1 Everton
WIGAN V FULHAM
The 2 teams here outside the the top 5 or 6 who play the most attractive football and sometimes results go against them because of this. Great result for Fulham v Liverpool last week and I think they are a little more solid at the back than Wigan so will go for them to win.
Wigan 0-1 Fulham
CHELSEA V MAN UTD
The big game of the weekend and I can only see a Chelsea win here. Utd have problems in midfield and Chelsea will be far to strong for them in that area of the field and will steamroller the middle of the park. Utd keep scraping results and as the cliche goes that is the sign of champions. I think not they are holding on for their lives this season and are fortunate they are not in the same position as Liverpoool.
Chelsea 2-0 Man Utd
LIVERPOOL V BIRMINGHAM
What can I say about my beloved Liverpool (there seems to be a big grey cloud following me and the club at the moment). One thing I do know is they are a better team then the press like to make out they are. Dont want to talk about my club so.
Liverpool 2-0 Birmingham
Ok thats it for now and look forward to writing next week.
