A man who has led a troubled life will invariably relish the sweet release of death. Similarly, a man who has endured a painfully disappointing season of football will relish the day that the curtain comes down and they can finally put an end to the pain and suffering felt over the duration of the campaign. It is an understatement to say that I am relieved that this is to be my final match review of the season. Do not mistake this relief for indifference, though, as I can assure you the hurt I feel will stay with me long after the inquest into this season has passed.
If there was ever a...

Should you have stumbled across todays blog in hope that I would brag about aiding Chelsea in the quest to thwart United's number 19 attempt, then perhaps this isn't the place for you and you should crawl back from which you came. However, should you be as disappointed with Sunday as I am, then you my friend, are in the right place.
I will be honest with you guys. I didn't watch the game. I had full intention of watching it, but it seems that no matter where I went to watch the game, there was no space to accomodate a lone Liverpool supporter. The...

Forgive me if I stray from the traditional match review format here but If I have to think about last night for more than 20 seconds at a time it causes me to shrivel up in a ball and rock backwards and forwards muttering the name of the former Manchester Utd striker that ended our last hopes of a cup.
Instead of looking back on what might have been, then, I would instead like to look forward to what will be. With Rafa having expressed his desire to bring in around 5 new faces in the pursuit of redemption next season, this could well be a make or break summer for us in terms of whether we will claw our...

Yesterday was quite literally a game of two halves. The first half, saw Burnley with the better chances as we struggled to impose any real threat on goal. The second half, though, was far more generous.
Lady luck hasn't been on our side this year, but she finally decided to show her face; after having tested our patience at first. It was quite a shock to see our very own Superman - Dirk Kuyt, be substituted due to injury. In a team that seriously lacks attacking threats, the last thing we needed was for...

Our performance was dire, but I expected nothing less from a group of players who have the combined effort level of a sloth. I know it's only half time (90 minutes left), but another loss is not a good sign. That is our 18th loss of the season

This week has been fairly full of incident. On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of playing in the quarter finals of a cup game. Having snapped my cruciate ligament playing for the same team a year ago, things didn't excactly turn out as a fairy tale return. It took about 10 minutes before I jumped and landed very awkardly on my knee causing it to swell to the size of Steve Bruce's head. Yesterday, saw me unable to move as I desperately tried to RICE (Rest Ice Compress Elevate) my knee. Bed ridden and unable to move, I was hoping I...

Last night wasn't the most exciting of games to watch, but it showed that we are capable of scoring goals without stepping out of second gear. More importantly, though, it showed that we are actually able to score without Fernando on the pitch.
It took 19 minutes for the dead-lock to be broken. Unfortunately, while Benayoun found the net to extinguish West Hams chances of a good start, I was in the back garden seeing to a bonfire. In fact, I had come in just after Benny scored, so I was pretty gutted to have missed it. Stupid, stupid...

Today, will be the first you have heard from me in a few days. This is mainly due to the weather; You see, having witnessed the coldest winter in memory, one can only rejoice and take full
advantage of a sunny day. While having a week of sun may be great for me, I cant help but feel like I have neglected my responsibilities.
The sun hasn't just affected me though, no, it would seem that Liam has gone AWOL. In fact, it has come to the point in which I am willing to offer 1,000 Dollars to whoever finds him. Please note: This is Zimbabwe Dollars and...

Last weekends draw with Birmingham signalled a landmark point for me; it was the day that I finally stopped believing that we could claw our way back into fourth place. Having stated the importance of capitalising on Tottenham's loss to Sunderland just a few days prior, it was all the more hurtful to see us fall short at St Andrew's. Before this game there was perhaps a scrap of hope on which to feed. Now, though, it seems we are out of contention and doomed to another season in the company of pitch side gnome Pat Nevin.
Having seen a brief...

Last night I witnessed the most one sided spectacle since Floyd Mayweather took on Ricky Hatton. Unfortunately, this display came from neither Liverpool or Benfica, but instead the Swedish referee, Jonas Eriksson.
Playing away from home is always tough, but when you are reduced to ten men and forced to play against twelve for two thirds of the game, well, that is near impossible. The referee - who we was constantly reminded didn't even need to be there - seemed to lose the game after the incident which saw Babel see red.
It was Luisao's challenge...
