Should you have stumbled across todays blog in hope that I would brag about aiding Chelsea in the quest to thwart United's number 19 attempt, then perhaps this isn't the place for you and you should crawl back from which you came. However, should you be as disappointed with Sunday as I am, then you my friend, are in the right place.
I will be honest with you guys. I didn't watch the game. I had full intention of watching it, but it seems that no matter where I went to watch the game, there was no space to accomodate a lone Liverpool supporter. The plan was originally to go down to the local. It isnt actually my local as I have to pass at least 4 other pubs to get there, but it's a nice pub and is worth the journey.
Having finally reached the pub a couple of minutes after kick off, we was hit with the realisation that there was nowhere to park and would have to travel elsewhere to watch the game. Long story short, we drove to 4 pubs which where all packed, lacking in parking or not airing.
It's funny. In the early 90's, growing up in London, I would have seen more Liverpool supporters walking the streets than I would have Chelsea. All of a sudden, though, Roman buys out Chelsea and the flocks of glory hunting chavs take to the street. I did manage to get into one pub for about 10 minutes. Theres me wearing my Liverpool scarf surrounded by many Chelsea fans. The only support being shown to Liverpool, was from a couple of Mancs sat in the corner.
I know what I said going into this game. A loss wouldnt bother me, bla bla bla. I really didn't think it would. But as time wore on and the game got older, I found myself strangely overwhelmed with a sense of sheer disappointment. It is without surprise, then, that when Stevie gifted Drogba the first goal, I stood there and shrugged as if I didn't care, when the bitter reality saw me struggle to hide the broken man which tried to escape from inside me.
So, instead of standing in a pub full of chavs pretending I didn't care, I returned to the comfort of my friends car and listened to the action (or lack of) on radio. One interview I listened to, was a Liverpool supporter saying the following:
At the moment we are level with United with 18 league titles each. I do not want them to get to 19, so even though I'm a Liverpool fan, today I am supporting Chelsea.
WELL F*CK OFF AND SUPPORT CHELSEA THEN!
Bill Shankly would be rolling in his grave had he heard that statement. Have things really become so badly that we are routing for our rivals?
All I know is I am glad that this is the last match review I have to write this season. The best thing to come of the season will be when the final whistle blows at the KC Stadium.
Good riddance 2009/10!

A shit game to watch it was, we were somewhat better than Chelsea in the first 20 minutes, but most the game was just slow and boring. In a league where it thrives on being fast-paced, action packed and exciting, this game was an embarrasment. No heart, no passion and no effort.
Losing i don't mind, but when the team just jogs around with no purpose, that is what pisses me off, fair enough if we get out classed, but i thought Liverpool had a never say die attitude, it seems we just laid down and let Chelsea walk all over us.
The only thing to save us is some investment, if not, Rafa's out and so is the spine of our team..
