Fullham vs Man United 2-0 another loss of the leader

Sunday, 22 March 09, 08:06 AM · Comments (9)

Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes were sent off as Man United crashed to 2-0 at Fullham.Chelsea, though, missed a chance to close the gap on the leaders, losing 1-0 at Tottenham to remain four points a drift.Man United lead could still be cut to a point today if Liverpool beat Aston Villa, although the defending champions will have a game in hand.

"If you lose games in March and April it can cost you"Alex Ferguson said after the match"Fortunately, we have a slender lead at the moment but it is not a lot""I am hoping the players go on internationals and come back to their best for the game against Aston Villa(on April 5) which is going to be crucial"

With the defending champions about to lose their first match at Carven Cottage since 1964,Rooney was shown a second yellow card for throwing the ball away in the 89th.

"The ball was thrown direct to where the free kick was being taken.did it hit the refree? No"Ferguson said"He threw it because he wanted to get the game going.what can you say about that"

Another disappointing weekend for United.. :(
However, down to 10 men on the 18th minute, followed with 9 men before the stoppage time, I'd say not bad to lose 2-0..
I had seen worst before, so I know that United will bounce back and win again.. :)
At least now everyone can stop saying that United were always lucky - they won because of penalty kick, their opponent team were down to ten men, the ref or linesmen were biased, etc.. There was obviously no luck at HOME against Liverpool last weekend, and there was definitely no luck AWAY against Fulham yesterday..
I really hope Scholes could forgive himself, Wazza would calm down, and United would get over the back-to-back lost and move on..
Win, lose or draw - United till I die.. :D

I think there were some problems in the team performance in the last two weeks.

Not only you, EVERYONE think that there were some problems in the team performance for the past two weekends.. The players claimed that they were complacent, although they hate to admit that they were tired.. United had been playing more games than other teams this season, so it is understandable if they are exhausted, but it is very alarming because March and April are two vital months.. United have to win..
