Tottenham Hotspur Chairman Daniel Levy has this evening made a statement, with regards to both Liverpool and Manchester United... Whom he claims have been illegally tapping up Spurs strikers Robbie Keane & Dimitar Berbatov.
In light of Manchester United complaining about Real Madrid's constant pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, it is to applauded that the Levy has come out and made this stand against these bully boy tactics from two of England's biggest clubs... Whose hypocrisy is nothing short of a disgrace! Do you agree? What are your views on both Benitez and Alex Ferguson? Do you feel they have acted correctly?

It's all good our chairmen has made a stand, and now whatever happens we will make them PAY quite literally! Whilist reinvesting in quality players, with Ramos at the helm.
Saying that... They have acted nothing short a disgrace, especially Fergie, considering the Ronaldo fiasco and complaining about Madrid's tactics! What a joker!!!
I just wrote this on one of my friend's blog on this same issue
I hate Ferguson! he is a hypocrite! I was explaining to one of my friends who is a Man U fan, how hypocritical Manchester United is. Ferguson has no respect for the wishes of the players who have done a lot for him and Manchester. Examples include Van Nistelroy, Beckham, Keane and now Ronaldo. It seems that every time a high profile player wants to leave Manchester he has a problem even after players have given him every possible trophy their is to win. People talk about Ronaldo being greedy but Ferguson is the greedy one. Even his purchase of Carlos Tevez, was greedy, he bought a great striker who helped West Ham beat him twice the season before last and then benched him just so his opponents wouldn't get the player. There is no way in my opinion that Rooney should be starting before Tevez and statistics show, that even though Tevez started off the bench he still scored more goals than Rooney. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Real Madrid fan, I really don't care if they get Ronaldo or not, but Ferguson just makes my blood boil, I HATE THAT GUY! And he is the one with no morals!
Thank you for sharing your views Alleagues, I too am fuming with Fergie if theses claims from Levy are proved right... that he has been tapping up Berba, it's scandelous... Nothing short.
The same anger has to be aimed at Bentinez, as it is not the first time he has done this to Spurs... A couple years ago he claimed we were desperate to get rid of Defoe, in exchange for Cisse!!! What a piss take... Both teams should be severely punished if these allegations as Manchester United put it, are proved correct, but i doubt it very much.... with such a weak and useless F.A!!!
The chance of that happening are just that... sweet F.A!!!
I have to say as much as I agree with what levy has said I don't ENTIRELY blame AF or RB. After all, isn't it the job of the governing bodies of our sport to enforce the rules they set? This situation echoes very closely the happenings on the pitch with diving, ref harrasment etc. There are rules in place that ought to stop such unsportsmenlike behaviour but the very people charged with enforcement are found lacking.
I fear the issue with our beloved sport is that it is lacking the one thing on which sportsmanship is based - integrity.
GotThemNotStir i hear what your saying, but there is no integrity in society let alone Football, however i do blame RB & AF for the way in which they have tried to unsettle our players illegitimately, and there blatant double standards in doing so.
Having said all that the big fish eat the small fish, as we did with Palace over Bostock... i supose this is just the way it is and there is nothing we can do about it?
We layed ourselves on the mercy of the court over Bostock and would have taken whatever was dished - don't get me wrong, i'm not saying we're whiter than but the Bostock saga is a different kettle... However, in spite what I said previously, what really gets caught in the throat is AF's (and he's no fucking knite of the realm to me) hipocricy......by the way, anyone else had a few to many???
Hahahaha after todays episode i need to drown my sorrows and have a stiff drink!
In all seriousness though the next few weeks are gonna be very interesting, as to see who we are gonna get if they are both sold? If Bent goes as well we will go from last season... In which we had 4 great strikers on paper, to absolutely fuck all!!!
I don't think Bent will go and together with Pekhart + one world class striker....I'd stick my neck out and say we could afford to make as much as poss from Bob n Berbs! Controverial it may be but neither are that young and to be honest, neither are more prolific in the PL than Benty. It all boils down to one thing - I trust the big 3, Poyet, Ramos and Levy
Yeah but we should still only sell on our terms ie; £50m for the pair.
Fergie has come out today and said that Ronaldo is not for sale, and that his stance on the matter! We should use the same tact, play hardball and drive up the price... Like i said before make them PAY... where it hurts most... In the pocket bloody bastards!!!
Although i don't agree (with some parts) with this Link I am about to provide, from a Liverpool website. I thought i would put in just to take a look from a different angle, at this tapping up scandal.

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. There are people here saying Fergie tapped the player up!!! WTF ????? When, where, who says so and where's the proof ???
Its always the same with the 'anti United' brigade. They take a little snippet of information, add some fantasy to it and then blow it up into a big issue.
This is EXACTLY what Fergie said: "I fully expect him [Berbatov] to become a United player". That's it - nothing less nothing more !!
So feel free to explain how the hell that is tapping a player up. Absolute nonsense and sensationalising of a quote.
Real Madrid have been at it non stop for 3 months. They have been to see Ronaldo in Portugal, they have sent agents to speak to him numerous times. They make offers of big cash to him via the media and plenty more. Has Fergie done this ?
You all suffer from that ancient disease called jealousy !! Slag off the winners, put down the succesful. Chealsea had the same, Arsenal have and now United get it yet again !!
It's part of the reason the English national side will NEVER win anything. Fickle fans who put them down and don't support them !!
I was absolutely shocked with their disgraceful behaviour in Capellos first game! 28 minutes it took for them to start booing England ! 28 minutes into Capellos reign. Unbelieveable.
God help anyone who is successful in England because they don't praise anyone-they just take you apart with petty little squabbles. The media, the fans, the other professionals - they all pick it apart and ignore the good things !!
England have won nothing for 40 years and they wont win anything for another 40 unless English fans at club and national level learn to respect what they actually have in the Premiership.
Is it little wonder all the 'superstars' prefer Spain and Italy ? They get respect over there. Ronaldhino this week ?
Fergie did nothing that can even loosely be classed as disgraceful, and everyone knows it. They just need something to moan about !!!
Tottenham did the right thing reporting the mothefuckers!!!
Carlyluvsunited first things first... These quotes which I am about to present, have been taken direct from the Tottenham website. They give a full explanation from Daniel Levy the Spurs Chairmen, as to why he feels both Liverpool & Manchester United have acted outside Pl rules with regards to approaching players under contract.
"Today's public comments by Manchester United's manager, announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players. It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date and is unbelievably hypocritical given his recent comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.
"This comes after a series of events, dating back to last summer, which have shown Manchester United to be in breach of Premier League (PL) rules. As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Manchester United. Benitez made similar comments in respect of Robbie recently and we made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Liverpool earlier this week.
"The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar, respectively, and that they should refrain from pursuing the player. Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of PL rules of conduct.
"Our subsequent position has been severely compromised by both clubs making their intentions widely known and indeed making contact with the players and their agents, without the Club's permission.
If this isn't tapping up i don't know what is??? There is no sensationalizing here as you put it, Fergie just has double standards. He can give it but he can't take it, and is like a playground bully! Who needs a good beating to knock him down to size.
go on fads u tell her...People are starting to call us the hyptocrites now, bcus of ramos and bostock, but Ramos...he had one year left on his contract so he had the view to talk to other clubs and bostock his contract was almost dead...
RTC Of course all clubs are guilty to some extent of having hypocrisy, however Man Utd case is the worst... in the light of the Ronaldo saga.
They have both (the scousers & the mancs) been working behind the scenes, obviously not in the public domain. As the young lady puts it; "When, where, who says so and where's the proof ???" The proof my lovely is in the pudding, and let me tell you that our Chairmen would never come out in public if he didn't feel as strongly as he does, remember he says this has been a campaign to unsettle Berba since last summer! So forget the Ronaldo saga of this summer with Real, the Berba one has been going on for a bloody whole year!!! & Levy has had enough and who can blame him. That is the reality take a check, and while your at it luv get REAL!!!
Man u and hypocrisy wat about Ronaldo to Madrid always complaining about it and then trying to lure and finally doing it by snatching Roma youngster Petrucci damn it he was called the new Totti!!!
B4L yeah i heard about that wonder kid and him being labeled as the new Totti! But the same was said about Rossi when he joined them a few seasons ago, and he never made the grade? With youngsters you never know? We had a player at Tottenham who was Irish (He broke into the Full Rep Of Ireland Squad at just 16 years of age!) and was labeled the new Rooney, until injury struck twice! He had two dislocated knee caps... and had to retire earlier this season, preventing him from fulfilling his undoubted to potential. My point is you just never know, i mean we have just signed John Bostock who is meant to be so good Barcelona, Chelsea & Man Utd wanted him, we will just have to wait and see???
And Spurs signed that keeper 2 called Mirko Ranieri from perugia he's 16 yrs old!!!
Yes thats right he is meant to be 6ft 5" and only 16!!! Let's he stops there!!!!! Lol
Why??? The taller the better!!! Nobody will be able to lob him that way!!! LOL!!!
Yes true B4L... But we do don't want him become taller than that! 6ft 5" is tall enough isn't it?
