Yoann Gourcuff Is Set To Stay At Bordeaux

Monday, 25 May 09, 05:39 AM · Comments (2)

The French midfielder declared today that he wants to keep playing with the French outfit, as he would like to continue his Bordeaux career.

Yoann Gourcuff is only 22 but he very wanted by any team in the world as the result of his wonderful skills in the French team Bordeaux. Gourcuff is a Milan player and he is on loan to few years to as stated - Bordeaux. In the last months, there were some talks about having a possibility of this guy to the Rossoneri lines for next season.

Yoann signed for three years ago (2006) from Rennes and been called “the new Zinedine Zidane” by the French sport newspapers. This honor is major in a life of French player as Zidane is the best (I think) French player of all the times. He is a real playmaker and all the team is in his hands, in few years he will be one of the best in the world and may even compete on the Ballon D’Or award.

Gourcuff was at Milan for two seasons, very bad two seasons. He could be much better now if he was success at Milan but it did not happen. One of the reasons for that is his very complicated relationship with the Rossoneri head coach Carlo Ancelotti who also was the main reason for Yoann leaving. There some talks that who will be coach next season would be Yoann’s thinking point about leave Bordeaux or return.

The ‘new Zidane’ is very flattered by many peoples including Zidane himself as he already identifies him as good player to put in the midfielders role in Perez’s future team (or not his future team) - Real Madrid. Zinedine is the one who responsible on the transfers and he also act like a scout in Perez’s Real Madrid. A word of him could influences a lot in player decision.

In the last month - the last month of the season there was a competition about who is the player of the year - of course Yoann was one of the nominee and he even won and been selected as the best French player of the season as he also been picked many times as the player of the month. If you would like to buy a young and promising player - you can look at him and see he is one of the bests.

Milan gives Bordeaux an ultimatum, which means they have to pay something around €13 million for letting Yoann to stay, otherwise, they take him away. This kind of sum would probably be unlikely to find in les Girondins pocket. If he will return - what he will do at Milan? Would he sit on the bench? I made two things that may happen to him if he will spend the season when he sits:

  1. His football quality will be down…You know, like when you do a bungee jumping…But on your skills - this is what may happen to him if he will sit on the bench.
  2. He would leave, once again… And this time for real and for always. Another good player would just get out of Milan’s hand and another team would rich him, even Inter is a possibility.

Milan super interesting at him, I do not know if for a bench player or a XI player but I tell you that I think he need to play alongside Kaka and make two main coordinators of the team when Kaka is the main one. This combination (I think) would be irresistible to pass. If Ancelotti will remain in Milan for another year and Yoann will comeback - I do not think each of them will be the same. They both do not work out together so well.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has stressed that he hopes to see Gourcuff in the Diavolo shirt next term. But sometimes dreams aren’t come true as now the Frenchman has a decision about his future as he said: “I want to stay with Bordeaux,” the 22-years-old crushed Galliani’s dream. “Now it’s just up to the directors to come to an agreement [the €13 million agreement],” he added.

Now it is all about Bordeaux - would they pay up? Would Milan get Gourcuff? Maybe another team would win his services. ALL THE ANSWERS IN THE NEW MOVIE OF THE SUMMER: YOANN GOURCUFF’S ADVENTURE IN TRANSFER ZONE (For tickets click here).
