Average Joemura
The expected Scott Brown booking came and now Gary Caldwell will be digging out his Paul McStay DVD's to watch for homework. I have only seen the tackle in 'real time' and I thought it was a shocker as in it was predictable as the scenario unfolded.
Scott Arfield's tackle on Darren O'Dea in the 2nd period was just as bad looking in real time so at least the M.I.B was consistent with his leniency.
No matter what you opinion is off Scott Browns contribution to the 4IAR charge- POTY or a frustrating bundle of energy who lacks 'something'- he is an ever present part of the Celtic midfield and his loss will mean some serious clipboard fiddling.
Still, that clipboard fiddling shouldn't see the name Aiden McGeady drop from the starting XI. Last seasons form his crept up on the winger and he now seems to be firing on all cylinders and with Nakamura deciding that his contribution will be fleeting, but no less effective, we require Aiden to be on the top of his game. Two games and two goals counts as prolifc in the current climate.
The striker problems continued with Georgios Samaras pulling a quad, sounds like something a footballer would pull in a nightclub, but at least Jan Vennegoor Of Hesslelink his found his range and lets hope the chances continue fall to him 2 yards out.
Clean sheet, 4 goals and 2 defenders scoring is not a bad nights work. The real work starts on Saturday at 12.30 when the past 2 victories will just seem like warm ups. A win at Tynecastle will send out a message.
MOTM was an easy choice. Aiden McGeady was head, shoulders, knees and toes above everyone else on the park. The rest were happy to be average Joe Millers apart from Andy Hinkel who was possessed by the ghost of Lee Martin.
