I was looking forward to an xmas TWIF.
Hail Hail! What an awesome TWIF! Forza!
I have never stained so hard to try and understand someone speaking English. Almost like those movies where they have Irish Travelers - and I hope that isn't a Cultural Insult as it wasn't mean to be.
Anyway the 75% I did understand sounded really great so I am going to have to start and follow the Lord Of The Wing Blog more closely.
Sorry
I had absolutely no problem understanding the LOTW - maybe because there was a lot trademark "wee swearies" or maybe it's because I'm a Taig Traveller myself
Hey man -no need to apologize to me, your the guy people like me go to listen to, read, and learn from. I am not going to complain - (well I suppose I kind of did- but not in bad faith) the way I see it - it is an honor to have the opportunity to hear your toughts - even if I have to replay ever tenth word - and say to myself - what the fuck did he just say?
It is kind of funny- in that I am sitting here, english obviously is my first language = although I am not exactly winning any writing contests, and I am saying - ok I know he just said something in English but I have no idea what.
Didn't they release Trainspotting in the US with subtitles?
It can be hard though - I remember when I lived abroad and coming back to Ireland - you'd turn on the news and there'd be someone on with a really strong accent and it'd take you some time to tune in again.
Heh, I'm feeling like Brad Pitt in Snatch.
But better looking.
The Pool is Drained for the Winter.
AVP is going to find his form.
Arsenal - 4 Liverpool 1.
They did that, release Trainspotting wie subtitles. That was just for guys fae Glesga
Think we surprise people that we don't sound like Mel Gibson in Braveheart or Sean Connery..
It's the sounds of the streets mo chara's...
When I lived in Hartford Connecticut they had an Irish Club in Glastonbury - and we would go there at times for Irishfest -and there were for sure a number of people who were directly off the boat or plane from Ireland - and I am not thinking from Dublin. You really really had to listen to what they said- it didn't help that they would at times use words that weren't english at all. Didn't get a good felling about a few of them - not most, but a few of them made me want to keep one hand on my wallet.
I got the sense from some of the conversations that the only reason they came to Connecticut was they would otherwise be put in Jail in Ireland.
Anyway I always have a blast at Irish Fest - The Irish - Apparently have some sort of Devine grant for knowing how to throw the biggest parties.
And the Lassies with Red Hair Don't hurt things either.
Happy New Year People.
