Eurocast episode 2, the Euro 2008 podcast, - plus predictions day 3

Monday, 09 June 08, 04:26 AM

Morning all,

hopefully you've enjoyed a fine weekend of football. Nice to have it back, isn't it?

We'll start with the predictions from yesterday unlike the first day nobody got both correct. Hitzelspergerandchip got Austria 0-1 Croatia correct while gimmeaminute was spot on with Germany 2-0 Poland.

So far I have gotten none of them right because I am absolutely crap at predicting anything. That won't stop me having a go though, my predictions for today's games are:

Romania 0-2 France

Holland 2-2 Italy

Right then, tell us how you think the games are going to pan out in the comments below. You'll also find Eurocast2 to listen to or download.

In this episode we talk to our German correspondant Tom about the victory over Poland, Austria's defeat to Croatia and there are some emails about Croatia's diving, thoughts on refs and a preview of tonight's games in the group of death.

But remember we really want to hear what you think. Don't be shy, let rip, be creative, whatever you like. Just take part.

To contact us use the info below:

SWISS - +41 44 586 62 08

But that's not all. If you have Skype you don't even have to pay for a phone call. Simply add 'oleole.com' as a contact then use Skype to call us. It'll go directly to the voicemail.

And if that's not enough we're happy to get your emails too - send them podcast@oleole.com

You can subscribe to the Eurocast using iTunes by clicking here, if you want to subscribe to the feed itself the feed URL is here, you can download directly here or you can listen from this page:

Right then, until tomorrow.

Sunday, 08 June 08, 06:12 AM

Firstly,

congratulations to 4andyL who got both games exactly right in yesterday's predictions. That's a cracking start.

Let's have your predictions for today's game then in the comments. Mine are as follows:

Austria 1-3 Croatia

Germany 2-1 Poland

Now, the very first Eurocast is ready for download. This time it's mostly me with some email comments from some of you guys but we really do want to hear from you via the voicemail systems we've set up. Just make a phone call and tell us what you think. The more you guys get involved the better it'll be. You don't have to be a fan of any particular country to give us your opinion.

One of the emails today said that Ronaldo showed against Turkey why he was the best player in the world. Did he? Was he that good? You tell us.

Plus we're looking for correspondents for a number of countries, have a listen and see if you can get involved.

To contact us use the info below:

Euro2008 predictions, day 1 - join in!

Saturday, 07 June 08, 05:06 AM

Right, just for the laugh I'm going to do a predictions post for each days games.

This is based on nothing more than pure guesswork, some of you might like to be more scientific in your approach. So let's crack on.

Switzerland 2-1 Czech Republic

Portugal 3-2 Turkey

Goals, lots of goals. After so long without football that's just what we need. I'm even expecting Greece to play wonderful attacking football. Well, maybe that's stretching it a bit too far. Anyway, feel free to join in, leave a comment and predict your scores.

Also, remember the first Eurocast goes out tomorrow morning. We want to hear from you by phone, by Skype or by email. Your comments are what makes the podcast so don't be shy. The more creative you are the better. We'll have a t-shirt to give away for the best contribution each day as well.

To contact us use the info below:

UK -  +44 20 7193 6971

SWISS - +41 44 586 62 08

But that's not all. If you have Skype you don't even have to pay for a phone call. Simply add 'oleole.com' as a contact then use Skype to call us. It'll go directly to the voicemail.

And if that's not enough we're happy to get your emails too - send them podcast@oleole.com

Update: I might even try some live blogging this evening, stay tuned.

The Eurocast - the podcast that you can be part of

Thursday, 05 June 08, 07:39 AM

Right then.

The Eurocast. It's a podcast, as you might have gathered, and it's also about the European Championships. That's why we called it the Eurocast.

The Eurocast - the Euro2008 podcast on OleOle.comBut it's slightly different too. The Eurocast is the only podcast that will give fans a chance to have their say on the games at Euro2008.

'How?', I hear you cry. At least I imagine I hear you cry. Easy. We've set up a voicemail system so you can call in and leave messages before, during or after any game.

We want to hear what you think about team selections, goals scored, goals disallowed, red cards, individual and team performances, controversial incidents and basically anything that pertains to Euro2008. All you need to do is leave a voicemail, we'll get them all together and broadcast them each morning in the Eurocast.

So, for example, if you have thoughts about this Saturday's games which are Switzerland v Russia and Portugal v Turkey you just pick up your phone, dial the number and leave your message. You have until Sunday morning to get your messages in. Try and keep them under 60 seconds and leave your email address at the end. That's because we'll have prizes. Yes! Prizes. There'll be a t-shirt to give away for the best contribution each day and maybe at the end we'll have a grand prize for the best overall contributor.

Make a note of the numbers. We have a UK number and a Swiss number for anyone who's actually at the tournament and wants to get involved.

This is the only Euro2008 podcast that's giving fans a voice. Tell your friends. Tell them to tell their friends. Tell them to tell their friends to tell their friends. And so on.

The Eurocast starts this Sunday. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to comment here on this blog.
