Hey everyone! Kristen (azzurri16) here for Ultra Sur! It has been a LONG time since I have written here as well. :) Anyway, I found this article and thought that I should post it here since it has been a long time since I wrote a post for this blog. :) So, enjoy. :)

Juande's Post-match presser

Juande Ramos gave his first post-match press conference as Real Madrid's new coach after his team's impressive 3-0 victory over Zenit.

"It is very positive to earn a victory in a match in which the points at stake aren't important. We had already qualified to play in the next round, so we had to win. I am very pleased with my men's performance. This victory will help boost the team's morale. Every player did his best to make a new impression."

"Every player showcased great spirit; they wanted to play well and to thrill the fans. Every game is different to the rest and we prepared for this one by trying to do things we talked about beforehand. We are happy with what we did tonight; we shouldn't compare this match with previous clashes. Today's result is all that matters."

"Heinze's injury and Marcelo's suspension will be a problem in defence this weekend and we must find a solution. I experimented by making Metzelder play in the right back position to see if it could work out."

"It's important for us not to have conceded any goals because Zenit had several chances. We will have to work harder to avoid other teams to have so many chances on our goal as my men grow more confident."

"I don't pay much attention to what's going on around me when I'm coaching through a match. I concentrate on the game and on finding ways of helping my players. A professional sees a game differently than a fan. We are focused on our work."

"Every player has different qualities. We have to find the system which best suits our players."

"Iker is Spain's goalkeeper. He is magnificent and his quality is unquestionable. He is one of the best keepers in the world, if not the best. Dudek is also magnificent and tonight was a perfect game for him to play in. He did very well and I am very happy with him. The goalkeeping position is one that requires confidence and it gives me peace of mind to have two great keepers on the squad."

"Every substitution, save the first, were designed to give Raúl and Guti some rest. Thirty minutes on the bench will do them a lot of good. Marcelo played as a winger because Metzelder needed some room to play as a right back. I could have either replaced Marcelo or positioned him further forward and I opted for the latter solution."

"I noticed my men were anxious to completely change the situation they are in. They worked hard and showed me they want to change as fast possible. They will do whatever it takes."

Reaction? I personally think that this was a nice win for Real Madrid and the Juande era. So, what do you all think?
