Newcastle have signed Spanish striker Xisco from Deportivo La Coruna on a five-year deal for a reported £5.7m.
The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 44 games for Deportivo, will link up with former team-mate Fabricio Coloccini at St James' Park.
Xisco, who was also linked with a move to Aston Villa, spent the 2006/07 season on loan at Spanish second division side UD Vecindario.
The forward will wear the Magpies number 19 shirt.
"It is a great feeling to be here and to have signed for Newcastle," Xisco told the club's website.
