Portsmouth have signed Algeria left-back Nadir Belhadj on a season-long loan from French side Lens, with an option to buy.
The 26-year-old has played 25 times for Algeria and can also play as a winger.
He said: "The club have chased me for a while and when I heard they wanted me, there was only one place I wanted to come. I wanted to come to Portsmouth."
Belhadj started his career at Lens and has also had spells at French sides Gueugnon, Sedan and Lyon.

He added: "I like the system, it suits me because I have a lot of pace and I like to run a lot."
