Looking back at that 4-4 draw, things have calmed down a bit...although the doom-mongers have already condemned Arsenal to mid-table mediocrity; saying we'd be lucky to finish 4th. Still, I think there's hope considering there's another 28 games to play. Man Utd, Chelsea and L'pool WILL drop points and we must make the most of it when we face them.
Perhaps I'm a little too optimistic, but it is good that all these "stupid" results have come early in the season. I do hope Wenger is right when he said that the team will learn from their mistakes. At the moment, our fixture list is still forgiving. Stoke is up next and there's where we need to put things right. No offence to Stoke, but I'm hoping Arsenal do give them a good thrashing.
As much as the team has got to learn, I hope Wenger realises that possession is Arsenal's best defence. Bringing on more "defensive" players like Song, Eboue and Diaby (like Arseblogger said) meant that we invited Spurs to attack us. I always get a bit worried when Wenger changes the shape of the team in the latter stages of the game to save the points. I think possession players are the way to go, guys who can pass well and keep the ball. That way it frustrates the opposition who are trying to catch up and gives Arsenal a better opportunity to break forward and put the game further beyond reach.
6 points behind the leaders this early would have been ok a few seasons ago, but now the EPL is so competitive that every little point counts. Still, it isn't mission impossible. So let's get behind the team and cheer them on, hoping that complacency doesn't set in again once we string together a set of good results. UP THE ARSENAL!
p.s. spurs fans, you're still bottom of the league, nothing to cheer about. Do arsenal a favour and beat L'pool.

I set my alarm clock at 630am hoping to wake up and drive over to my friend's house to watch the match. However, I decided not to bother after reading ANR's post that this game might not be a classic. So I slept in. And I don't regret it one bit...
I got an sms from a friend saying it was 4-2 with 20 mins to go, I continued to sleep soundly thinking the points must be in the bag. Then again, this is Tottenham...I remember a few seasons ago when Jenas (I think) popped in the equalizer with seconds to spare in the game.
4-4 it ended with two goals to Spurs in the dying minutes. First thing that went through my mind was,
"Wenger must have gone defensive after the 2 goal lead". And yes he did, bringing on Song for Nasri/ Diaby for van Persie was stupidity I thought. Going defensive never wins you games, it
always screws up the team balance and Nasri would have been better at holding up the ball late in the game. I would have preferred if Wenger had brought on Diaby and Vela/Bendtner. It would've
meant that Spurs would not have the freedom of pushing more players upfield as there was still an attacking threat up front.
Look at all the teams which went defensive and screwed themselves over - Munich 1 - 2 Man Utd in the Champs Lge final is a classic - they took out their attacking players for defenders and lost. Holding on to a lead could only have been done during the days of Seaman, Adams and Bould. I'm pretty sure the last time we let in that late equaliser against Spurs was because Wenger took out an attacking player for a defensive one late in the game.
Reading various posts, most have pointed the blame at the lack of a quality defensive midfielder. Me? I've given up a bit on the team to be honest which is kinda sad. Having Arsenal head into a season as not even one of the favourites for the title is disheartening. What was the point of having a world class stadium if we don't have a team that are world-beaters? Youth policy is great, but only if you balanced it off with a decent amount of experience.
I'm fed up of whinging bout my own team anyway. Positives? None. If anything, the whole team must be demoralised after letting in those 2 goals so late. Now every team will be confident as hell coming to the Emirates and knowing they can score. It's not so much the draw but how we let the other team catch up...the fact that it was Spurs made it worse.
Consolation? We'll see what happens in January.

So yet another away game after the "training" match in Turkey. All these London derbies always make me nervous and West "Zola" Ham is always a potential banana skin. I'm leaning toward and 2-1 or 3-1 win but I won't be the least bit surprised if we end up with a draw.
It's a bit annoying that I have to stay up late since I'm stuck in Australia to watch the game. 11 hour difference doesn't help...but since I'm not working on Monday...WOOHOO!! Bring on the late nights!
Some old Newcastle mates re-united at West Ham are Dyer and Bellamy - both "inspiring" each other through their umpteenth injury. Well done to them...
Adebayor chats about how money has ruined the game. Right....
Personally, I'd like to see Gallas dropped but I don't think that will happen. Whether the cigarette was lit or not doesn't reflect well as an Arsenal player - and he's the captain! No player is bigger than the team!
More Yaya news...sigh, it's always frustrating every time the transfer market comes around. I stayed up the whole night Sept 1 to see if Wenger would sign his ONE player and nothing happened.
I expect some changes from the Fenerbahce game. Lineup will probably be:-
Almunia
Eboue Gallas Silvestre Clichy
Walcott Denilson Fabregas Nasri
van Persie Adebayor
UP THE ARSENAL! WHOOP THE HAMMERS!

First post...wonder if what I write makes interesting reading.
Every other Arsenl fan has already said it, so re-iterating it would make it kinda stupid but I'm gonna repeat it anyway. It's always the same things over the past few seasons and even more prominent this season:-
1. Arsenal can attack but can't defend.
2. Toure/Gallas partnership doesn't work - both not tall enough etc.
3. Squad too thin/young/lacks experience
4. The need to replace Flamini/Gilberto - getting a holding midfielder.
...and on and on.
So as MUCH as possible, I'm gonna try my best never to bring up those topics (but I think it's gonna be impossible).
More later...too tired now.
wonder if anyone is reading this.
