You really won’t believe us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, were gonna win the league as the song goes.....

Tamas in Glasgow for talks according to Auxerre, we are still trying to bring in big bad mental Bassa, that’s two international centre half’s to be added to the already best back four in the league, minus Naylor of course, however, it's likely that his replacement will also be an international Rat anyone ??

One of Europe’s best keepers between the sticks.

Naka and aiden far better than anything the DOBs can hope to field, with a hopefully rejuvenated Scott Brown back to his best.

Scott, JVOH and Samaras up front.

Excited, confident??? You better believe it and to think if we hadn’t thrown  away we wouldn’t be a kick in the arse off nine......   Ps – Gordon Smith – what a fud

BIG BAD MENTAL BASA

Sunday, 13 July 08, 09:16 AM

Reports today have linked us with le mans centre half Marko Basa, who is valued by his club at £7.5m, but, we hope to get him for around £4.5m.

It’s obvious that we are in the market for a centre half and have already been linked with Berra of Hearts, Stranzal of Spartak Moscow and Tamas from Auxerre.

The revolving door looks like it will be trying to him Lee Naylor on the arse, as he is rumoured to have family difficulties and wants to return south. According to reports, Sunderland are ready to “ test our resolve” with a £2 million bid. I don’t think our resolve will stand that kind of test and it will be thanks lee and see you later....

Bit of a shock this morning when it became apparent that John Kennedy has joined Motherwell on a six month loan deal, though it will be good for him to get some first team action and fingers crossed for the big man.

So... who will drop out to accommodate the new centre half, because if we are paying £4.5m for him he will be first choice that for sure. Big Mick, the new number 4 and team captain, could it be Gary Caldwell who was fantastic in the run in, or will it be Henry the mild mannered Janitor? – that’s for the auld yins....

I’m not sure, wgs has always as far as I know stuck to a rigid 442 and I can’t see this changing.... so who to drop out – thoughts ???? for me it should be.... shit I just don’t know, as in my opinion neither McManus or Caldwell are the class that we really need to take us forward...

Big rumours that Samaras and Maloney to join this week. To be honest I would take both in a heartbeat. I like big Sammy and he had a decent scoring record and scored a few big big goals in his time with us..£2m for the 23 year old big fella who has scored 30 goals in the Dutch league or £10m for Andy Johnson.. don’t you just love the premiership. Maloney will also spilt the fans, he is a cracking wee player and if rejoins it will be on our terms.. they say never go back,, time will tell, but he will be an able replacement for Naka and Aiden who both played a hell of a lot of football last season. So that’s Sammy and Maloney for a third of a tore Andre flo.......... enjoy

celtic in crisis.....celtic in crisis...........

Sunday, 06 July 08, 01:52 PM

Celtic ‘s pre season plans and any hope of securing 4-in-a –row were shattered last night as an under strength rangers team, beat overweight ex-footballers in front of a 100,000 strong blue tsunami.  Rangers lifted the Scottish Masters title despite the best efforts of the Scottish football fraternity, who denied them time to rest and made them play back to back 7 a side games.  The victory secures Rangers passage into the British finals and in doing so, they have eclipsed Celtic’s 1967 European Cup win.

The streets of Glasgow will be decked out in red white and blue to welcome the hero’s and this win will be the start of season 2008/2009’s  fantastic five-ruple ( that’s copyrighted meeja ok),  catapulting the gers into another financial planet from their poor Glasgow rivals. The victory added to the “green chip” signings that financial guru Martin Pain has secured for rangers, leaves the Celtic board and supporters in  a complete state  of disarray. The quality on show at ibrox next season will rival anything that the Madrista’s have managed to assemble over the past few seasons.

By Drivel Broadsash.

Honestly, they were complaining that they only had one sub and might have to play one up front and sit back – déjà vu anyone???  Ferguson the fud (elder) stated that it was puyoorr unfair an that.. as they had to play back to back games – fucking fixture backlog strikes again..the commentators stated before the game that it was nice to see kids wearing Celtic or Rangers tops sitting side by side... once the game started ,the chants of we arrre peepul were clearly audible, you can take the huns out of govan and all that.....

I have been reading with absolute disbelief  some of the Celtic message boards.  The amount of posters that are unhappy with our lack of transfer activity is frightening. How many times will they listen to the media peddling their pish about the standard of players that Rangers have bought. Misser and Laugherty have scored about a dozen goals between them in the last two seasons, hardly prolific. Velika is a decent player, but, nothing more. I don’t think that he is any better (or worse) than Eddie Murphy, so nothing so far scares me...... On to us, as I say, no need to panic just yet. Players linked again today are Maloney in a swap deal with Naylor and Ratvan Rat making noises about wanting to join. This would be excellent imho as Naylor needs to be replaced pronto, rumours of family difficulties, so  a return south may suit the club and player. Though, I will always remember his initial press conference, the boy looked like how I would feel if I ever had the chance to sign on the dotted line.  The big Austrian centre half again linked and Boetang – 32 but he has worked with Gordon before and this one may be a goer, or maybe not as there are reports that the boy will move to hull.... fuck me, he’s ambitious eh?...still Sky premier league cash wins again....  So no panicking from this bhoy, but £10m for Andy Johnson FFS

Peter the Great ??

Tuesday, 17 June 08, 01:44 PM

A few lahds and lhassies had raised some cash for the Jimmy Johnstone charity and Peter Lawwell had accepted an invitation to go along to their end of season shindig and collect the monies on behalf of the charity.
Unfortunately, he had to withdraw at the last minute ( don't u just hate that ?) and as a way of an apology invited the members of the club to Lennoxtown for a tour of the facility. When they arrived the club had laid on a buffet and Peter Lawwell had brought along the SPL trophy for the fans to get their greasy mitts on ( no offence to the kirky lhads and lhassies, but, my source did say that the pies were a tad greasy)
The facilities looked first class on the video that i saw, though I do wish the person who videoed the tour would learn how to use the feckin video camera, as most of the time all we saw was the floor or ceiling tiles....
Anyhow after the tour, a kick about in the indoor area and a free lunch... ( see there is such a thing), Peter Lawwell gave a speech about the facility stating that the club has developed half of the land we own and phase two of the project will see accommodation ect being built for the young players at the club. He stated that youth is the future, but, that the club will do everything in its powers to bring in the best quality player it can within our budget and cited the Scott Brown transfer fee as being a situation where we did the biz transfer wise.
There was a quick Q&A session. Peter was asked if there was a " sell on clause" between ourselves and Derby. He stated that we had made a "significant amount" from Misser joining the Orcs. Another person asked about Missers comments in the meeja regarding the fact that he was pushed out of Celtic. Peter Lawwell replied that the quotes in the papers were not exactly what was said to Miller, however, it was made clear to him that he was no longer wanted and would not feature in the first team and it would be in his and our best interests and should move on.
Kudos' to Peter Lawwell for taking time out from his, hopefully busy schedule and for making it a great day out for the fans. However, the SSM was in an open neck shirt and jeans... FFS i know it was a Saturday but c'mon......absolute class from Peter Lawwell and hopefully he will be at the club for a long time to come.. if not we can always give Terry Cassidy a phone.....whatever happened to that Gefinor finance deal for Cambuslang  ????
The tour was enjoyed by all, except Tam Boyd who walked into a melee at the front desk when he arrived, he took it in good heart and gave a big Hail Hail into the video camera. The only downside of visiting the site is that its a a bugger to get to...
ps... Note to Andy Hinkel... don't leave your boots in an open locker you don't know who could be in there...and Artur you should have taken your CD's to the Euros as yer taste in music is howkin....

GOOD OLD DAYS ???

Tuesday, 10 June 08, 12:34 PM

Well, didn't euro 2008 burst into life last night. What a game and brilliant football from the Dutch....I’m feeling a big smug as I have them in the office sweepstake, but, no doubts that some fall-outs and bickering will put paid to their ( and my) chances....

Before the tournament i didn't feel any excitement ... was it because the Celtic nations didn't qualify, was it because there wasn't any nervousness and stress waiting on England to fcuk up?? No……you know what it is...it’s the same old same old...the same faces that we see week in week out from the comfort of my home and TV.

Now... when I was a lad, the first big tournament i remember was Argentina 1978. I remember the excitement as Scotland left from Hampden by helicopter; however, they were soon to return under armed guard and followed by Wullie Johnson who came back higher than he was the day he left in the Sikorsky…. I remember getting the new Scotland strip with the Umbro diamonds down the sleeve, shorts that just covered your you know what’s and the badge, WTF was that all about?, it was  half as big as the shirt itself and left your nipples (all three of them) in tatters... We are on the march with ally's army…aye right. Do you know there were only 7,938 people at the Scotland Vs Iran match. Must have been a curfew in the Iranian and Scottish quarters of Cordoba that day...

I remember the passion of the crowds at the Argentinean games and the ticker tape as the teams emerged, what a sight... Of course being the age i was, I wasn't aware of the political background and fall-out as the finals were being played in Argentina. Further controversy ensued as Argentina played all their first round games at night so they would know the score in the other group game and what was required. Followed by the game where they tanked Peru 6-0 in suspicious circumstances and played silly buggers before the final itself, so much so that the Dutch refused to attend any official functions to celebrate the event.

Zico, Kempess, Ardilles, Platini, Rossi, Zoff, Tardelli, Boniek, Rep, Hann, Cubillas, Rumminigge, Revillino to name a few that graced the final's - Cruyff refused to attend.....Think back and remember the excitement of seeing great players that you have read so much about playing for the first time.. Fantastic.

Zip forward to the year 2008......

Torres, Nasri, Hunntelar, Klose, Del Piero, Pirlo, Ronaldo, Deco, ect ect ect don’t get me wrong great players, great teams and hopefully a great tournament... But for me it’s a case of been there got the replica shirt and “official partner” prawn sandwich.

There are 368 players at this tournament and you can watch 57% of them play live on TV in the leagues of England, Italy, Spain, Germany and Holland week in week out. Another 19% can be viewed from teams in the Champions League and UEFA cup from leagues such as Portugal, Russia and Turkey. That's a staggering 76% of players - where is the unexpected new superstar??? there wont be one…we already know all about him and have signed him in Football Manager.

Now i have probably come across as a grumpy old man, a sentimental old fool who pines for the good old days...maybe that’s true (ask the wife) yet, one of my most enjoyable moments as a Celtic fan was not on live TV and it didn’t stop me celebrating like fcuk and jumping about like a looney.....There I was listening on a crackly MW radio (Christ i AM old) when Charlie Nicholas ( yes, I had the mullet) scored the winner in Amsterdam in 1983.....to take Celtic into the next round of the European Cup, yea, ok we got humped off Real Sociedad in the next round – don’t spoil it eh !!.

Has live TV 24/7 ruined football?? no...... Not quite yet, but, we have lost something special that will never be recovered.

EURO 2008 PREVIEW

Thursday, 05 June 08, 12:05 PM

Only two days to go until the greatest show in Europe kicks off. Time for my Euro 08 preview… what to do.....got it.. preview the Celtic players that will appear…been done !! and if it hadn’t been for those pesky kids at LOTW I would have gotten away with it...ok I will preview EURO 2008 and focus on the Rankers players who will set the tournament alight and change the whole ethos of European football, transforming them into disciples of Wattiecencco……

Ronaldo… a quick flight out to the Portuguese training camp in Chairman Murray’s private jet... sorry....... Easy Jet secured the signature of the wonder boy to Rangers….what do you mean he’s off to Madrid for £300,000 a week…. Not another moonbeam that was really just the light from Keech Jackson’s torch as he tries to extricate himself from Murray’s ass….

  NO.....NO.....AND....NO AGAIN…. That’s just wrong.

What do you mean Nacho’s not in the Spain squad…. WTF… I mean come on...anyone who can score 10 goals in 10 SPL starts must be in their squad…. Do they not want to win the fcking thing ???

So.... no........ Nacho, bazza, boydy, chrissie, thommo, wier-do, shagger, Clubfoot, webby, King Carlos, adamski, koo-san, gowser.... or McCulloch ( he's that pish, he hasn't got a nickname.

So... Bhoys and Ghirls..sit back and in the words of Frank Gallagher.................... PARRRTTTY....

SPONSOR ME PLEASE................

Tuesday, 03 June 08, 02:21 PM

please give...............

Please sponsor

me.....

Hi my name is ally and I am a GMP police dog. As you see it’s not an easy life. My friend Wally and I were very much looking forward to the “Blue Tsunami” © Scottish meeja coming to my home town.

We had heard of the stories from my cousin Raul regarding all the fun he had when Celtic came to town in 2003.Well.... what a shock we got, we couldn’t find a free lamppost anywhere, all these things (have u ever seen I am Legend?)....well that kinda thing that scared the bugger out of Will Smith (did you greet when his dog croaked it as well,)........................................................sorry, I’m filing up here, gets me every time, she was so cute was ......where was I? Yea these things were everywhere pi***ing on my lampposts and speaking in some strange language... wearrapeel, nopopeinarrrome, and something about a quadrangle ??? or something like that.It was a nightmare.... so much so Wally is still waiting on his rabies results... paws crossed and all that.

So me and Wally have this idea you see, were thinking that we set up a campaign.. We were going to call it “blue-mail” but seemingly that’s been done already. We hope that if you Tims give us some cash we can go to doggy counselling and forget all about Manchester 2008. Please give generously.....only £1.00 a week will keep us inoculated for life........and make all the bad dreams go away.
