Celtic's eastern promise......

Tuesday, 23 December 08, 12:30 PM

Celtic have completed the signing of Czech Republic Under-20 defender Milan Misun from FK Pribram

The 18-year-old left-back has signed a four-year contract with the reigning Scottish Premier League champions. He said "It's a tremendous honour to sign for a club of Celtic's stature,"I know that there are some quality players at Celtic and I will need to work extremely had to break into the first team." Mate.. your a left back.. we have none, you wont have to wait that long if you are any good.

The defender opted for a move to Glasgow despite interest from Italian Serie A club AC Milan. Really........................

Ginger nyaff Gordon Strachan stated that he was delighted to secure the the signing of Misun, however, he stated that Milan is a young lhad with potential and that it was the coaching staff's remit to ensure that he reaches that potential with us........sounds like a pre-emptive strike against the boo-boys when the lhad makes his first misplaced pass.

Dundee United goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has signed a pre-contract agreement to join SPL rivals Celtic.

The 26-year-old Pole has rejected the chance to extend his stay at Tannadice and leaves as a free agent at the end of the season.

"I have ambition to play at the highest level and a move like this would make that possible, I have been in the United team for a year now and I think I am ready for a step up." and a doubling of your wage always help's to convince you that its time to move on. A wee wake up call for a certain under-performing goalkeeper....hopefully starting on Saturday against the Orcs......

Dundee United manager Levin sobbed like a jessie and said "I believe that football-wise it's not a good decision for him. I don't think he's going there as the number one goalkeeper. He's only played maybe 40 or 50 games for Dundee United and he hasn't got a lot of experience. It's obviously a big feather in his cap that Celtic see him as someone capable and there comes a point when a figure is mentioned that makes it worthwhile sitting on the bench."

Rumours that we are in talks with a high profile bosman signing and that the person in question has already been to Paradise and the Tommy Burns Academy......

There is the news, tomorrow there will be scattered showers, with snow guaranteed on Thursday.

PS.. you put your left leg in....Is it just me that's not offended and that their feeble attempts at offending us get more bizarre every passing week ??

We came, we saw, we conquered.

Thursday, 16 October 08, 05:35 AM

Sub Heading......They sneaked it by the odd goal.
We are only eight games into this season, but, I thought that it might be interesting to have a look at our early season form against teams that both us and the Huns have played so far.
The league table shows both teams are tied on 19 points, however, we have a superior goal difference.
Both clubs have played St Mirren, Falkirk, Motherwell, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock and I have listed the scores against each team.
                Celtic                             Rangers
St Mirren     1-0  H                          0-1  A
Falkirk         3-0  H                          1-0  A
Motherwell   4-2 A                          2-1  H
Killie             3-1 A                          2-1  H
Aberdeen    3-2 H                          1-1  A
We have gathered 12 points from these games, scoring 14 goals and lost 5
they have gathered 10 points from these games, scoring 5 goals and lost 4.
We have played three of the games at home to their two at home.
As you can see we have performed far better in these games and have scored a hell of a lot more gaols than they have +9 goals for  us and +2 for them. I think these stats show just how much better we are than them, as they have won each game by the odd goal and taking into account the fact that 4 of the 5 teams that we have both played are in the bottom half of the league, Killie being the exception.
The catalyst for this good form.....step forward Mr Samaras and Mr Maloney, fast flowing football, its the future......
After doing this, the capitulation at parkhead that day rankles even more. four two to that pile of u know what.
Wrong team, wrong attitude, both on and off the park... haven't heard us so quiet at an derby game....still onwards and upwards - hail hail to four in a row.
Cheer up Walter Smith...............

It's Sno good,Sno good at all......

Thursday, 21 August 08, 01:19 PM

So... its goodbye Evander Sno

A player deemed good enough for the Dutch under 21's and Olympic squad for Beijing 2008, but, not good enough for the rough and tumble of Scotland's elite top flight league. A league where midfield's bristle with such luminaries as  Scott Severin, Bob Malcolm and Gary Locke star, a bigger bunch of hammer throwing fuds you will never find.
Sure the big fella had rough edges, but I will tell you this...you watch him progress at Ajax, they will coach him and get the best out of him. I hope we have a sell on clause, as we will imo rue the day that we let him go on the cheap.
Granted, we had no option as he was out of contract next summer and would have left for hee haw, but, we should have tied him up on a deal a year or so ago, then loaned him out to get the experience that he obviously needed, just as we have done with Cuthbert.... oh aye and have Barca with Crosas
This country really needs a wake up call where its football is concerned - kick and rush, kick and rush.. the ball is round for a feckin reason.....how many euro final's have Scottish teams made - is it 6  ?? three for us, two for the Huns and one for the dons.. in how many years ??? not a good record at all. Yes... we are a small country and yes we do not have financial might of the big leagues, but, if and that's a big if we can nurture our own then u never know....
I deliberately pictured the big man in his Holland strip - its a sad day and indicative of Scottish football that we prefer hammer throwers over a young Dutch international, think of it the other way round.. just say we have signed a young Dutch international, plays regularly for their under 21's and is on his way back from the Olympics - we would be pretty happy methinks, hey, not to worry...we have only went and thrown a guid one away.....Ajax and Ossasuna think so and lets not forget he has already been in the Dutch full squad... never mind back to the sphell hammer throwers....

The clock's ticking, dont dissapoint us

Monday, 18 August 08, 12:35 PM

Its time.. time to splash the cash Celtic. You announced with great pride that the debt is down to £3.25m. This will rise over the course of the season of course, but there is room to spend and its time, no excuses.

No more McCourt’s, Mizuno’s ect – we need class reinforcements ASAP.

No one is asking that we compete with the big leagues in terms of signings, we realise that  Ashavrin and Bent ect are out of our price range, however, I give you Naka £2.5m, Boruc £1m – this is the type of players that we need.

Rangers have bought big, they had to again no-one is disputing this fact. They sold Cullar, yes that has weakened them, but they have reinvested in an area of the pitch that they were struggling.

Let’s not forget how close the league was last season, yes we are champions and the champions win over the 38 games of the season. The players did well to win the 7 games to secure the championship and I do not agree that the Huns euro run cost them, tough shit.. get over it. But it was the last minute goal that kept out title hopes alive, without that goal the league was lost.. we were 12 points behind that pile of shite at one point, do we want to have to struggle again this season???

The defence needs urgent action, if we do not sign a left back then heads should roll, in fact we also need a change at right back as for me Hinkel is not the answer. Give Caddis a run and see how he does.

Midf... jeez not good enough – not in a millions years. Keep the ball, its round for a reason,.... pass and move, pass and move. Look for the ball, as WGS says be brave, that’s the problem, how many times do our mdf just pass the ball to one of our players in a crazy position, get rid of it, dont make a mistake, thats not brave Gordon, far from it....... we dont expect Brazil 70, but we do expect better than what we have at the moment... ah but three in a row, last 16 twice... aye, brilliant, but that does'nt mean good football has to be forgotten about.

Upfront – JVOH, McDonald, Samaras..... hmmmm –JVOH and Mcdonald did well and we can’t afford a top class replacement, so they will have to do...

Splash the cash.. this is the same guff that we had to endure for long periods of last season..... How many saves did the St Mirren or Utd keeper have to make ??? I am not saying that the leagues lost, or its time to change the management, but, action is needed now. Let’s not gamble on the Huns being as poor as last season... a spend now will secure the league and guarantee champions league football again.

Strachan out ???????????? WTF

Saturday, 19 July 08, 04:36 PM

A good result against Southampton and plus marks for Caddis and Mizuno, who both impressed when they came on. Not quite the same result today however, losing three one to Fulham.

I cannot for the life of me understand why the fuckwits in our support are tonight complaining about the result today. Fuck me, it was less than 12 hours since the end of the Southampton game and most of the same players were given a run out.

I didn’t see the game today, but, in my opinion the result is the least important thing in these games, all you look for is the players getting their fitness back and hopefully no injuries.. eh Huns???

I cannot remember us setting the heather on fire in the last few pre-seasons and we have done not to badly .... But looking at the tic websites today and some of the usual suspects were on in all their glory – Strachan fuck off, the defence is shite, where is the money going yada yada...

The defence will be strengthened with 2 new players ,Tamas and a.n other and I would imagine that he will be a left back, saying that I thought that Wilson looked a better option at left back than Naylor is when he came on...

of course the fuckwits ( is that allowed? :-)) - forget that Naka, boruc, jvoh are still to come back in..

A message to all the doubters...(can you believe it already?????).......... why don’t you piss off , as you obviously don’t have a clue about football......Let Gordon do what he does best, making us champions come May 09.

Message delivered and hopefully understood..............

Rant over

true

BREAKING NEWS..............................

Thursday, 17 July 08, 06:11 AM

CELTIC are today delighted to announce that Aiden McGeady has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new five-year contract.

McGeady was voted Scotland’s Player of the Year by his fellow professionals last season and his form throughout the campaign helped Celtic win their third league title in a row and reach the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League for a second consecutive season.

And the news that McGeady has signed a new five-year contract will delight Celtic supporters, who voted him their Player of the Year at the club's annual awards dinner last night (Wednesday, July 16).

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “This is wonderful news for the club and our supporters.

“Aiden's performances in recent seasons have made him the outstanding player in Scottish football and clearly we are delighted that he has committed his long-term future to the club.

“Our priority has always been to try and keep our best players at the club and the Board is delighted to support Gordon in his plans for the future by securing Aiden on this long-term agreement.

"It is particularly satisfying that Aiden has become such a success having come through the ranks of our youth development programme.

“While he himself deserves immense praise for all he has done, he is also a real tribute to all those people who have assisted his development including, of course, the great Tommy Burns.

“With Scotland's Player of the Year in Aiden McGeady and the SPL's Top scorer Scott McDonald having now agreed new extended contracts, we are delighted that we have secured the services of two of the finest players in Scotland.

“Clearly, we will also continue to look to make quality additions to our squad and we are pleased to have done this in recent days with the signing of Georgios Samaras, someone who was so crucial to our success last season.

“The Board will continue to do all we can to support the manager and ensure that Celtic stays at the top of Scottish football.”

celtic in crisis.....celtic in crisis...........

Sunday, 06 July 08, 01:52 PM

Celtic ‘s pre season plans and any hope of securing 4-in-a –row were shattered last night as an under strength rangers team, beat overweight ex-footballers in front of a 100,000 strong blue tsunami.  Rangers lifted the Scottish Masters title despite the best efforts of the Scottish football fraternity, who denied them time to rest and made them play back to back 7 a side games.  The victory secures Rangers passage into the British finals and in doing so, they have eclipsed Celtic’s 1967 European Cup win.

The streets of Glasgow will be decked out in red white and blue to welcome the hero’s and this win will be the start of season 2008/2009’s  fantastic five-ruple ( that’s copyrighted meeja ok),  catapulting the gers into another financial planet from their poor Glasgow rivals. The victory added to the “green chip” signings that financial guru Martin Pain has secured for rangers, leaves the Celtic board and supporters in  a complete state  of disarray. The quality on show at ibrox next season will rival anything that the Madrista’s have managed to assemble over the past few seasons.

By Drivel Broadsash.

Honestly, they were complaining that they only had one sub and might have to play one up front and sit back – déjà vu anyone???  Ferguson the fud (elder) stated that it was puyoorr unfair an that.. as they had to play back to back games – fucking fixture backlog strikes again..the commentators stated before the game that it was nice to see kids wearing Celtic or Rangers tops sitting side by side... once the game started ,the chants of we arrre peepul were clearly audible, you can take the huns out of govan and all that.....

I have been reading with absolute disbelief  some of the Celtic message boards.  The amount of posters that are unhappy with our lack of transfer activity is frightening. How many times will they listen to the media peddling their pish about the standard of players that Rangers have bought. Misser and Laugherty have scored about a dozen goals between them in the last two seasons, hardly prolific. Velika is a decent player, but, nothing more. I don’t think that he is any better (or worse) than Eddie Murphy, so nothing so far scares me...... On to us, as I say, no need to panic just yet. Players linked again today are Maloney in a swap deal with Naylor and Ratvan Rat making noises about wanting to join. This would be excellent imho as Naylor needs to be replaced pronto, rumours of family difficulties, so  a return south may suit the club and player. Though, I will always remember his initial press conference, the boy looked like how I would feel if I ever had the chance to sign on the dotted line.  The big Austrian centre half again linked and Boetang – 32 but he has worked with Gordon before and this one may be a goer, or maybe not as there are reports that the boy will move to hull.... fuck me, he’s ambitious eh?...still Sky premier league cash wins again....  So no panicking from this bhoy, but £10m for Andy Johnson FFS
