A Quiet Day the Day before.....and we're richer (but not much)

...my parents-in-law arrive here in Switzerland. So that means that it's a weekend of Weihnachsmarkt and mince pies with mulled wine, so very seasonal. It will also make it tough to get to see the Wigan game on Saturday and maybe that will be a good thing!

I've not seen much regarding Team news for the weekend but there were a couple of interesting stories today. Firstly, as a result of the the European Championships we are £732,000 richer since UEFA pay clubs for the release of their players during the tournament. I didn't know that at all but that could buy us at least 5  16 year old Ivorians in the January transfer window. The second story is that Wenger has said that he won't play the Carling Cup team in the FA Cup. I think that's a good point and he realises that we shouldn't miss the opportunity to try and win the tournament. However, I feel that some of the kids will get games and, if (very big if), we are doing well in Europe or somehow get back into league contention then the policy could well change (but I hope not!).
