You know it's a rather strange summer when most of the headlines regarding your club revolve around the boardroom rather than the actual players. Even Cesc struggles to keep stories regarding Kroenke or Fat & Orange off the back pages. Two stories yesterday caught the eye. The obvious one was Kroenke increasing his sharehoding in the club and as it seems that he is the lesser of two evils it may not be a bad thing. However, the insightful journalist, David Conn, in the Guardian has highlighted the potential mistake with not taking up the rights issue from a some interesting perspectives. I specifically was interested in his views on how the shareholders would be then putting their own money into the club rather than lumbering the club with debt. As much as we might despise Ushmanov maybe the fact the board members weren't willing to put their hands in their pocket was the real reason for rejecting the idea.
Also of interest is this article by gooner, Amy Lawrence, regarding the downfall of our record signing, Jose Antonio Reyes. He may now end up on the scrapheap and meanwhile Jermaine Pennant will earn £40k a week in La Liga... that's just wrong in my view.
With Chelsea playing Manure on Sunday a win at Wolves on Saturday is crucial as...
It was good to see RVP get 2 goals with his chocolate leg.
Well you got your wish and I hope you will celebrate long and hard afterwards.
