Germany midfielder Sebastian Deisler says he will not be hurried into returning from an injury lay-off, even if that
means missing the World Cup 2002.
The 22-year-old Hertha Berlin midfielder is widely regarded as his country's most promising young player and a key to Germany's chances at the World Cup.
However, Deisler had a third knee operation after breaking down during a league match in October and his comeback has been repeatedly delayed.
People forget that Sebastian is very young - he has to learn how to listen to his body and understand it
Germany manager Rudi Voeller "If I'm healthy, I want to show what I can do," said Deisler.
"But my health has the highest priority. I really want to play there, but not at any price.
