Henry given Sunday fitness deadline

France striker Thierry Henry faces a World Cup 2002 axe if he cannot prove his fitness by Sunday.

Arsenal star Henry, who has been struggling with knee ligament problems since joining the defending champions' squad last week, failed to appear in yesterday's training match against J League side Urawa Reds.

Concerned coach Roger Lemerre said: 'Thierry Henry was not able to resume playing today and this is important news.
