Brazil National Football Team

Brazil National Football Team represents the country of Brazil in all international matches and competitions. The squad is commonly referred to “Canarinho”,which means Little Canary in Portuguese. The team is governed by CBF – Confederação Brasileira de Futebol – (Brazilian Football Confederation). The international squad played its first match in 1914 in Rio de Janeiro against an English club by the name of Exeter City, in which Oswaldo Gomes scored the first goal for Brazil in history. During it early months of existence, a rivalry between the Argentina National Football team and Brazilian National Football team was established. Legendry football players such as Pele, Ronaldo, and Romario have worn the famous yellow and blue uniform. Currently international football superstars such Robinho , Kaka, and Alexandre Pato play for the Brazilian national soccer team. They are coached by former Brazilian national team captain Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri, also known as Dunga. Under Dunga Canarinho has won 19 matches, has 2 loses, and 5 draws.

Brazil has a vast history of success and titles in the world of football and has produced some of the finest athletes who ever played! The have a unique offensive style of play called “ginga”, which is based on skills and technique. Brazil is the only country that participated in all 18 editions of the FIFA World Cup and has won 5 titles so far. The Brazilian National Team has also won 8 Copa America - the last one in 2007. The Brazilian National Football Team has won the most World Cup titles, out of any country. The Brazilian Team won their first World Cup in 1958 after beating Sweden 5-2 in the final and their last one in 2002.The Brazilian team is simply the most successful national team in the history of football.
