The Canucks, with a hearty blend of raw physical power and competitiveness, have begun to challenge the United States for bragging rights in the North, Central American and Caribbean zone. They took the their neighbours to the south to extra-time in the final of the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 2006 and then forced a penalty shootout with the Americans in the final of qualifying for Beijing 2008 in April. Christine Sinclair is the undisputed goal queen in the team while Kara Lang controls the midfield.
