The Croatian national team was founded in 1990 and became members of FIFA and UEFA in the summer 1992 after Croatia’s independence from Yugoslavia. Despite the youth of the team, they were considered FIFA’s “Best Movers of the Year” in 1994 and 1998. It qualified for the 2002 and 2006 World Cup without even loosing one match. The current stars on the squad are forward/midfielder Niko Kranjčar, known for his technique, and defender Robert Kovač. The Croatian national team will be competing in the group B of the Euro 2008.
