Aston Villa Football Club was founded by Jack Hughes, Frederick Matthews, Walter Price and William Scattergood in 1987. Throughout the team's history they've had periods of both of success and failure. The club started out being successfully wining many championships under Captain Archie Hunter. Aston Villa's biggest accomplishment has been winning the UEFA Champions League title match against
Bayern Munich in 1982. The team's worst years were during the late sixties till the early seventies when they got relegated all the way down to the Third Division, and were not able to get back to First Division till 1972. During those hard times Aston Villa FC changed management and coaching many times. Currently Aston Villa is in 6th in the
English Premier League and is under the ownership of Randy Lerner.
