Gianliugi Buffon is a professional football player that plays goalie for both the
Italian National Team and
Juventus. Buffon is considered to be one of the top goalies in the world for his amazing saves and millisecond reactions in the goal. He makes opponents
work extra hard to score goals due to his quickness and poise in the goal and blocking skills. He has earned multiple awards and honors including UEFA Best Player and IFFHS Best Goalkeeper.
Gigi Buffon, also known as Superman by Juventus supporters was born in the small town of Carrara, in Tuscany, North Italy to a family of athletes. He started playing soccer in grade school
on the streets of Italy. In 1991 the youth club Parma took him in to play the midfield position. When both goalies on the squad were injured, he was used as a substitute and discovered that his
best role on the field was defending the net. He turned professional at the age of 17, playing for the
Serie A team
Prama AC. Buffon played for the squad a total of 6 seasons and made 168 appearances.
Gianliugi Buffon transferred in Juventus FC in 2001, and is currently playing there. His play with organization game him worldwide recognition. He has helped Juventus turn into a
successful organization, winning the
Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup with the organization.

compete with on the world stage. Gianluigi Buffon’s performances on the Italian National Team led him to become nominated for the FIFA World Player and European Footballer of the year.
