Competition Overview
The Royal League is a winter competition featuring the top 4 teams from Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
History
The competition was originally conceived as a way of broadcasting football during the close season in most of Scandinavia and as a way for Nordic teams playing in European competitions to keep fit while their domestic league was on hiatus. The Royal League is generally met with apathy by larger teams.
