Ligue 1 (also known as the French Première Division, or Division 1) is the top tier of the French Football League. There are 20 Ligue 1 teams. In one season, they play each other twice, for a total of 38 matches. French Première Division is currently at the 4th place in the UEFA League rankings. This means the top three Ligue 1 teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the 4th placed-team qualifies for the UEFA Cup. Since 2001, one team has took control of Ligue 1: Olympique Lyonnais, which won 6 league titles in a row and also won top honours in the 2007-2008 season. The football league is currently sponsored a telecom company and its official name is Ligue 1 Orange.
