A.S. Roma - also known as “The Magic” (La Magica) and “The Wolves” (i Lupi) - was founded in the summer of 1927 by Italo Fosh, as he merged three football clubs into one, so that a club from Rome would be able to compete against teams from the northern part of Italy. AS Roma won its first title, the Scudetto under the management of Alfréd Schäffer. A.S Roma FC has been playing at Stadio Olimpico ever since 1929. Through out its years of existence, The Wolves have developed a fierce rivalry with the Italian teamsSSC Napoli and S.S. Lazio. Italian soccer legends such as Attilio Ferraris and Amedeo Amadei have once worn the famous maroon and gold AS Roma jersey.

The best decades for the Associazione Sportiva Roma football club were during the seventies, eighties, nineties, and 2000s, as the team won many prestigious competitions including Serie Aand UEFA Cup. The 90s saw the emergence of Francesco Totti as the squad captain and all time lead scorer. The AS Roma's poorest performance was during the thirties and forties, when they only won one title.

Currently A.S Roma is considered one of the top teams in the Italian football league Serie A. Recently, AS Rome reached in the quarter finals of the Champions League and won second place in Serie A Cup. Christian Panucci, Simone Perrotta, and Francesco Totti are the superstars of the squad, and Luciano Spalletti is the manager of the organization.
