AC Piacenza
Serie B
Facts & History
Piacenza rose to prominence in the 1990s when they arrived in Serie A in 1993.
Though they were relegated, they stood out for their all-Italian team and their solid home record. They had a strong home record in the 1990s but were historically poor travellers, once going over 2 seasons in Serie A without an away win.
Possibly the most famous moment of their recent history was the famous overhead kick by Pasquale Luiso which sealed a 3-2 win over AC Milan and cost Oscar Tabarez his job.
Piacenza yo-yod between the top two divisions until their last relegation in 2003. They haven't been back since.
Famous players include:-
Maassimo Taibi - who later played for AC Milan and Man Utd
