He was born in 1974, in Conegliano, Veneto, Italy to a mother who was housewife and father who was electrician. Del Piero grew up playing football with kids from his neighborhood, and was
the only one to ever make it professional. AC San Vendemian was the first team which Pinturicchio played for, starting at the goalkeeper position, and becoming a striker after being noted for his
footwork. Alessandro Del Piero started playing professional football in 1991, for the
Serie B team Padova. He joined
Juventus FC in 1993, and shortly afterwards becoming the captain. Currently Del Piero is considered by experts and fans to be one of most

Supercups and the Cup of Italy. He became the top scorer of the UEFA Champions League, although Juventus lost to
Borussia
Dortmund in the final. His leadership abilities on the field earned him the captain position. As of February 2008, Alessandro Del Piero has played a total of 546 games, scored 231 goals, and
became all time appearance leader with
Juventus FC. He recently signed a contract with the club extending his playing time till 2010.
