Cotterill joined the Latics on transfer deadline day in August 2006. He caught the eye of many clubs with some brilliant performances while playing for Bristol City ,including a great solo effort against Huddersfield a week after his 18th birthday. Cotterill has gone on to produce 2 stunning goals in a Wigan shirt.One was a curling effort against West Ham in 2006 and the other went right into the top corner from 25 yards out against Sunderland in the 2007-2008 FA cup 3rd round.
