The Potters played at Victoria Ground for most their years and moved to their current home Britannia Stadium in 1997. Stoke City FC has established an arch rivalry with Second Division club Port Vale due to the close proximity in which the two teams play. Legendary English football players such as Peter Dobing and top league scorer Freddie Steele once wore the Stoke City FC kits. Stoke City FC in 2008/2009

Due to the fact that it’s the Stoke City’s first year back in the EPL after 24 years playing in the Championship Division, the club is not expected to do well. If it does not get relegated and finishes the division in 18th place it will be considered a success for the club. However, if the club reaches mid-table or better in the division, it will become an amazing season for the organization.

Getting the Stoke City to play at that level will be the biggest challenge for Coach Tony Pulis. He will have to heavily rely on his main players from last season Liam Lawrence and Ricardo Fuller, who both scored 15 points each in order to get that level. The defence for the club will need improve in order for them to be able to compete with top clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea. Potters captain Andy Griffin will have to be able to motivate him fellow defenseman to elevate their game to a higher level.
