Wigan FC

Wigan Athletic FC has been a professional football club since 1932, after the demise of the Wigan Borough, another football club from the town of Wigan in the Greater Manchester Area of the United Kingdom. The club currently competes in the English Premier League and has been there ever since it got promoted in 2005. The Latics play out of JJB stadium, which is located in the Robin Park Complex in Newtown. Wigan Athletics’ uniforms contain white and blue stripped jerseys for the team’s home colors and yellow and black for its away The Latics current chairman, Dave Whelan purchased the organization in 1995, when it was a third division club and promoted the club through different divisions through out the years.

Wigan FC has a variety of international superstars playing on the squad including Egyptian forward Amr Zaki and Dutch captain Mario Melchiot. Due to the signing Honduras superstars Wilson Palacios and Maynor Figueroa, the Latics have a huge fan base in Honduras. In Ecuador Wigan Athletic FC also have a lot of supporters due to the singing of Antonio Valencia.

In the only the squads fifth EPL season, the Latics are looking to building on the success from the previous seasons in the Premier League. Wigan manager Steve Bruce is very optimistic about the squad’s future and is confident in his players’s ability to finish in the top 10 in the Premier League. He is also looking forward to using his new weapon, Egyptian forward Amr Zaki to score some goals for the team. Wigan Athletic FC has a good enough team to be able to compete with top ranked clubs such as Chelsea FC.

At the start of the season, the Latics completed Bruce’s prophecies. The club was ranked number 10 in the EPL, with 9 points. The clubs new striker has scored two goals in games against top ranked teams such as Manchester City and Hull. The club looks like they can possibly earn a spot in the UEFA Cup competition or even win the League title. >.
