hey... it is a quite interesting question. Grêmio is a very tradicional brazilian team http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%AAmio

comparing to english teams maybe it would be our "liverpool"
even red is the colour of our biggest rival :O) liverpool is a traditional english team with some important titles. maybe it makes sense.

not mentioning that ronaldinho gaúcho, lucas and
anderson [liverpool] were our "finds".

Regarding the Prem - yes it has the most money, the most foreign players and one of the most exciting leagues in the world. But Italy on the pitch - you can't beat it. They have strong academies and
coaching facilities. Serie B and C are strongly connected with Serie A. They look from within the various leagues and really invest in development of players. Players who get out of form in A, go
down to B or C to gain their form. Look at all the players that play in Serie A from World Cup winning team. Look at how many Italian players play in Serie A to boot in the top 6 teams. There also is
not this huge gap between B and A, IMO. Plus look at all the coaches that are Italian and great coaches - Lippi, Capello, Ancelotti, etc. Also players do venture abroad as well. Luca Toni, Cannavaro,
Zambrotta. And it is now all catenaccio, it's exciting fast paced football. I can go on.=)
