Soldado began his footballing career with Real Madrid's youth team, Real Madrid Castilla, at the age of 13 after he was brought from Valencia CF. O n October 23, 2005, he made his debut with Real Madrid's first team against Valencia who beat Los Blancos (1-2. He was then loaned to Osasuna in the 2006/2007 season where he scored many goals. He then returned to Madrid in the following season but he failed to make it into the first team with the presence of players like Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Rau'l Gonzalez Blanco
