The Romania National Football team represents the country in international football competitions. The team is controlled by the Romanian Football Federation. The team is also known as the Tricolorii as a reference to the countries official colors, red, blue and yellow and it has a beer brand – Bergenbier – as its main sponsors. The Romanian National Football team played it's first match in 1922 against Yugoslavia, winning by a score of 2-1 in Belgrade. Legends such as defender DAN PETRESCU and sriker DUMITRESCU worn the Romanian National Team's uniform . Victor Piţurcă is currently in his second term the head coach for the squad. The national football team has not had success yet had success on the international stage. They will look for the Euro 2008 to be their first successful international competition. The Romanian National Football team will be competing in group C, along with tough competitors Italy and France.
