About Ronaldo

Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima changed his name to simply Ronaldo to avoid confusion with other Brazilian stars with similar names. Ronaldo started his career with Social Ramos, a small club in Rio de Janeiro, but it was with Cruzeiro EC that the amazing striker caught the eyes of Europe.


Ronaldo's World Cups

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo joined the Brazilian National Team when he was only 17 year old, while he was on Cruzeiro in 1992. He didn't play on the Brazil team that won the World Cup that year, but his talent was exposed to the world. In 1995 he moved up to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, a club that always bet on Brazillian players. There, he became an idol and started his advance on the World Cup record. Ronaldo is the is the highest goal-scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup with fifteen goals to his credit. Ronaldo was the main star of Brazil team for the 1996 Olympics, but after the team's elimination by Nigeria he had his first sad moment as an international player. Still was the best player in world he continued to impress with his awesome dribbling speed and his many goals.


The Phenomenon

The following year he was involved in a complicated transfer to Inter Milan and once again proved that he was the best in the world for two years with that club. All accomplished before the age of 24. In Italy won the nickname of "phenomenon" and his famous number was 'R9'. After Milan, he joined Real Madrid where he started as a star of the team but then had to compete with other talented strikers as the team roster continued to grow with superstars. Ronaldo currently plays as striker for AC Milan, where he seems to be happy and flourishing.


Ronaldo has a career filled with incredible goals for the Brazil national football team as well as his clubs, all built along dramatic moments, beautiful goals. His sometimes turbulent personal life has involved many beautiful women, and most recently seen rumours of relationships with transvestites.
