Stadium Overview
The BayArena is a football stadium in Leverkusen, home of Bayer Leverkusen since 1958. The stadium is very similar to English grounds. The club have sold out every league match at home for the past 3 seasons, and are now working it the options to expand it.
Stadium History
The stadium was originally known as Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion, named after a former chairman of Bayer AG, the club's founders. Its original capacity was 20,000. In 1986, a rebuilding project began to convert it into a modern facility. The project was completed in 1997, making an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 22,500. The stadium was renamed BayArena in 1998. In 1999, a hotel attached to the stadium was completed.

Directions from Downtown
From Leverkusen Mitte station, walk through the park adjacent to the railway, following the signs (or the crowds) for the BayArena. The walk should take no more than 10 minutes. Alternatively you can take a bus from outside Leverkusen Mitte station to the stadium – bus line 203 runs every 10 minutes and the journey takes less than 10 minutes. Buses 207 and 220 run from the town centre to the stadium as well.
