Stadium Overview

The Crew Stadium is the home of the 2008 MLS Champions Columbus Crew. The Stadium is a 22,555 seat facility and it was the first venue in the United States built specifically for soccer. But the Columbus Crew Stadium is also a multi-use facility with a variety of built in features that can be used for other sports and entertainment events.

Stadium History

Crew Stadium opened in May 15, 1999 when the Columbus Crew played the New England Revolution. The construction happened fast after the Columbus Crew learned they were being forced out of the Ohio Stadium, home to Ohio State University's American Football team. The eviction turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the Crew ended up exchanging a tight pitch and poor side lines for a brand new soccer designated stadium.

Besides the regular supporters sections the Crew Stadium also offers more sophisticated options.
