Stadium Overview
Malmo Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Malmö, Sweden. It is currently used mostly for football matches, with its home team being Malmö FF. The stadium was built in 1958 and holds 27,500 people. The architecture is similar to Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg, and the architect was the same. Both stadiums were built in the 1950's for the 1958 FIFA World Cup. A new stadium, Swedbank Stadion, holding 24.000 spectators, will be complete in 2009.
Stadium History
The stadium's record attendance was set during the 1958 World Cup, when 30,953 spectators saw the Group 1 game between Argentina and West Germany.
