Club Overview
IK(Idrottsklubben) Brage is currently playing it's football in the third tier of Swedish football called Division 1 Norra. They are located in Borlange, Sweden about three hours northwest of Stockholm.
Club History
Borlange got it's first football club in 1920 called IK Blixt and it merged with Domnarvet GIF in 1923. Domnarvet is the name of a local iron mill and I can only assume the club was part of this mill. The two clubs split and Blixt reformed under the name IK Brage. IK Brage has stood at the Domnarvsvallen ever since.
The majority of Brage's time has been spent in the lower divisions of Swedish professional football but the club can brag of 18 seasons in Allsvenskan. Brage placed 4th in Sweden's highest division in 1939,1940,1980 and 1981. 1980 proves to be the best time for Brage fans. The 1979-80 squad also were runners-up in the Svenska Cup.
