So here we are then, a week on from the frankly cruel tease that was the nil all draw in the Nou Camp (Camp Nou, feckin massive stadium in Barcelona or whatever it’s called), the real semi final happens now with enough drama to keep everyone on the edge of the seats.... There was a time when one could have regarded Alex Ferguson as being "one of us" at the top end of English football. He was the former union shop steward from Govan, the supporter that had got lucky and, as many people were very quick to tell us, he had never forgotten his socialist background.... English players produced at Manchester United and Chelsea? Rubbish
03:01 AM, Monday, 26 November 2007
In a recent interview, Alex Ferguson said that it was his duty to produce English players, because nobody else was going to. Whether he intended it that way or not, the media interpreted it as a pop at Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, and probably a bit at Liverpool as well. Of course, this... Jose Mourinho Slams Arsene Wenger's Policy Oh really now? And how did you help England? John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole were already there. So was toilet thief Glen Johnson. Moan-rihno didn't do anything there. Buying Shaun Wright-Phillips and keeping him on the bench? Leaving Scott Parker... I know the issue of quotas is being looked at by most football sites today due to Steve Coppell and Gordon Brown sticking their respective oars into the issue. Alex Ferguson’s comments on the matter have also raised eyebrows (though his interest is in sticking it to Arsenal rather than ... A good week for: Micah Richards. A commanding display at centre-half in the derby victory and another assured display in England colours in midweek. The media are all over him at the moment and at just 19 years of age he is definitely here to stay. Watch out Rio... The unsung hero.... A good week for: Sven-Goran Eriksson. Sitting pretty in the league after a maximum haul from the opening games and plenty of confidence heading into the derby. Bizarrely, even some of the press have managed to throw a bit of praise his way! The shock of it... David Beckham. Finally... Whom will Ferguson kick a boot at now ?

Arsenal 2 - 1 Manchester United If this was a test of belief then Arsenal passed with flying colours. Stand up Gunners every where and salute. The Premiership's most resilient team came back on home turf to snatch a deserved win over the league leaders. Arsenal beat United at their own game... Arsenal v Man United Preview; Lauren Leaves
07:13 PM, Saturday, 20 January 2007
Let me start off by saying that I will massively miss Lauren, and that he is still the best right-back at the club. Or was. Eboue might be electric and exciting going forward, but he is too busy being an actress and believing in his own hype to focus on defensive improvement. Hoyte is ok, but it...
