Stadium Overview
Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium will hold several important matches as a host city for the UEFA Euro 2008 football tournament. The stadium will host all of Austria's first round Group matches and the Euro final match on 29 June, 2008.

Ernst Happel Stadiom is the home stadium of th Austrian national team and is also used for important club matches.
Stadium History
This Vienna stadium was named after the famous player and coach Ernst Happel. Ernst Happel led Feyenoord to win the European Champions cup. The stadium is located in Vienna's Prater park. It's one of Europe's most modern football grounds and it hosted the 1995 UEFA Champions League final between Ajaxand AC Milan.

In June 2008, Vienna will be one of the host cities for the EURO 2008. Ernst-Happel Stadion, which has been recognized by UEFA as a five star venue, will host 6 matches for the Euro, including a semi final and the final.

The Prater is Vienna's most popular fun fair. Enjoy a great view over Vienna from the giant Ferris wheel, or do some sports and relax in an expansive area of parks, forest land and fields.
Vienna Opera House
is situated in the frist district of Vienna at the southern end of the Kärntnerstrasse. August von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll built the State Opera House from 1861 to 1869.

It is one of the most famous Viennese sights and was built in 1147 AD. For a long time it was uncontested as highest building in Europe measuring almost 137 m.

Taxi:
The taxis in the larger cities are provided with an officially controlled meter (basic fee in Vienna is € 2.-/daytime and € 2.1/night). The rate is calculated according to kilometres driven, as well as time. In Vienna, no additional fee is charged for luggage.
For taxi rides from Vienna to the airport (please indicate 'taxi to airport' when ordering) the sum of about € 10.- is added to the fare to cover the return journey.
Airport-Taxis are taxis specially designated for transport only to and from the airport. They must be reserved in advance and charge a fixed price (incl. luggage) without a surcharge for the empty journey.
